Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, and trader alias provided during registration.

Trading Data: Performance data, trade history, and portfolio metrics pulled via read-only API from your connected broker(s). This data is used to build and display your verified trader profile.

Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages visited, features used, and device information.

Identity Verification: For Pro-Investors and where required by law, we collect identity verification information, such as legal name, date of birth, country of residence, and a government-issued identity document, to confirm you are who you say you are. Verification is performed in the background by us and/or trusted KYC service providers. This information is held securely, used solely for verification, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, and is never displayed publicly on your profile, leaderboard entries, or share cards.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) create and maintain your account; (b) verify your trading performance; (c) display your public trader profile and rankings; (d) communicate important Platform updates; (e) improve and personalise the Platform experience; (f) comply with legal obligations.

3. What We Display Publicly

Your trader alias, verified performance metrics (returns, Sharpe ratio, drawdown, consistency), asset classes, and strategy type are displayed on your public profile. Your real name is hidden by default and your identity remains under your control: it is only displayed publicly if you explicitly opt in via your profile settings. Your email address and broker login credentials are never displayed publicly or shared with third parties.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS encryption for data in transit. Broker connections are strictly read-only: we never have access to execute trades or modify your broker account. We do not store broker login credentials; broker access is via read-only OAuth/API tokens.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with: (a) service providers who assist in operating the Platform; (b) law enforcement when required by law; (c) in connection with a merger or acquisition. All third-party providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your data; (d) object to or restrict processing; (e) data portability; (f) withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@trendvo.com.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request full account and data deletion at any time from your profile settings, and we comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

8. AI Features & Third-Party LLM Providers

The Platform offers AI-powered features including the AI Coach on trader profiles, the Content Coach for Pro-Investors, and AI-assisted leaderboard search. To deliver these features, the prompts and inputs you submit (and, where relevant, the trader strategy, content, and public profile context they relate to) are transmitted to third-party large language model providers, currently Google (Gemini) and OpenAI (GPT), via our AI gateway.

What is sent: only the text or voice transcript you enter, plus the minimum context needed to produce a useful response (e.g. the trader profile you are viewing, your selected learning style). We do not send your real name, email address, payment details, broker credentials, or private portfolio holdings to LLM providers.

How it is handled: requests are processed solely to generate the AI response and are subject to the data-handling commitments of the underlying providers. Under their current enterprise/API terms, prompts are not used to train their public models. Conversations are not shown publicly on the Platform.

Your control: AI features are optional. You can choose not to use them. Outputs are educational only and never constitute financial advice.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

Trendvo uses a small number of browser storage mechanisms to keep the Platform working. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or sell data to advertisers.

Essential cookies. These are strictly necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be turned off without breaking core features:

  • Authentication session - keeps you signed in securely between page loads (set by our authentication provider).
  • Security tokens - protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and session hijacking.
  • Load balancing - routes your requests to the correct server instance.

Browser local storage. We store the following non-sensitive information directly in your browser (not transmitted to our servers unless you take an action that requires it):

  • Language preference - remembers your selected locale across visits.
  • Navigation context - remembers whether you're browsing as an investor or a Pro-Investor so the right header and theme appear.
  • Follow selections - temporarily stores Pro-Investors you follow before you sign in, so your choices aren't lost during onboarding.
  • Portfolio builder progress - saves your in-progress Pro-Investor portfolio so you can return without losing your work.
  • Risk profile answers - keeps your Preference Selector responses available across sessions for editing.
  • UI state - collapsed panels, dismissed prompts, recently viewed Pro-Investors, and similar lightweight preferences.

Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate usage: which pages are opened, how far down them people read, and which buttons are pressed. Plausible sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you to any other website. The measurements are aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Your control. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset your saved preferences, but your account and portfolio data on our servers remain intact and will reload when you sign back in.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or Platform notification.
